Swine flu: 2 more dies in Hyd, death toll rises to 20 in Andhra

H1N1 turned more deadly on Sunday as two more lost their life of the deadly virus in Andhra Pradesh, taking the death toll in the state to 20.

Informing the reporters, the health officials said that a patient named G Lakshmi, 42, admitted to Government Chest Hospital died on Tuesday.

Lakshmi was a resident of Kapugadda, Shamshabad. She developed H1N1 symptoms and was admitted to the Chest Hospital three days ago.

Speaking on this, Dr K Subhakar, H1N1 influenza nodal centre coordinator, said: "She was obese and a hypertension patient. Since the time she was admitted, she was incubated but died after three days of admission due to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) and bilateral pneumonia at 8.55 am."

The other victim includes a 42-year-old Satyanaryana, a resident of Anand Bagh, Malkajgiri died at AP Chest Hospital on Saturday.

Both of them were suffering from pneumonia and had tested positive for H1N1.

Apart from this, 51 more people have been admitted in swine flu designated hospitals across Hyderabad, the state capital.

Notably, Andhra Pradesh has recorded over 400 positive cases of swine flu so far.
